Clinical trial results on the effectiveness of Puristat’s Detoxification programs
Dr. Jim Steigerwalt (AKA Dr. Jim) conducted an independent, unsolicited clinical trial on Puristat Colon and Liver Cleanse programs. The results for Dr. Jim and his patients have been life-altering and life-saving. Here's what the doctor had to say about his experiences with Puristat....

Dr. Jim began his career in medical research, which is why, he says, he is so open-minded. At 72, he runs his own fifteen-acre farm in Pennsylvania, and lives off the five acres of organic food he has planted.
In 2000, after having taken the medication methotrexate, Dr. Jim’s liver became damaged. He was told there was little that could be done for him. Dr. Jim decided to set up clinical trials to test Puristat’s Liver Detoxification program on himself and others with liver damage.
After completing Puristat’s program, Dr. Jim had his liver re-tested. His eight-year struggle to restore his liver had finally ended; he received a letter from Geisinger Health System in Danville, Pennsylvania, stating that while they could not explain why, his liver had returned to its healthy state.
"Initially, I did Puristat’s Liver Detoxification program myself, along with a woman in Paxinos, Pennsylvania, a woman in Walnut Grove, California, and a man in Philadelphia who participated in the clinical trials. There’s no doubt about it...Puristat’s detoxification has done us all a lot of good!
"I had a problem because of taking methotrexate; it did some damage to my liver. My liver enzyme readings, specifically transaminase and LDH, were twice the level they ought to have been. After the Puristat detoxification, my liver enzyme levels returned to normal. Now I’m up at the crack of dawn, jumping up and down off of my tractor all day long!
"A victim of lyme disease, the Paxinos patient was also experiencing terrible mood swings, extreme fatigue, and unexplained seizures during which she even lost all of her motor functions. These, along with a lot of other non-specific health problems, had basically made her into an invalid, afraid to leave her house because of her dramatic symptoms.
"But since the Puristat program her mood swings have lessened, she hasn’t had a single seizure, and is doing ordinary things again, like grocery shop.
"The patient in Walnut Grove was not responding to medication for her various ailments, so she tried a detoxification diet similar to the one recommended by Puristat…and it worked. So I suggested she take it a step further after I heard about Puristat’s products from another patient who’d seen dramatic results from colon cleansing through diet prior to using Puristat’s Liver Detoxfication program.
"Another of the trial patients, the patient in Philadelphia, had extremely high triglyceride levels (1500), diabetes, and liver function problems. His doctor told him there was nothing he could do – that Puristat’s products were just a lot of nonsense. But after the liver detoxification program, his trigylceride levels measured at a much healthier level; they are now at 320 and continue to fall!

"But our results cannot be fully explained medically and, therefore, this type of treatment is not accepted wholeheartedly by the medical community. However, several physicians at Johns Hopkins and I have reviewed all our results, and everything is normal. Some of the liver specialists at Johns Hopkins, while not flag-waving supporters of detoxification, admit that there’s something to it.
"As a race, we’ve been poisoning ourselves for years. For example, we eat bread that doesn’t spoil after a day or two on your countertop!! If it doesn’t go bad, then it’s poison...something your liver will have to deal with. Some of the stuff we ingest just can’t be processed by the liver, so it gets thrown back into the blood stream and ‘round and ‘round these poisons go until we end up falling ill.
"There is simply no standard treatment for some of what ails us today. One of my peers at Johns Hopkins – a staunch advocate of conventional medicine – concedes that there are times when you cannot stick with conventional medicines...that sometimes they are not effective. In this day and age, he says, we load the liver up with so much junk that it simply can’t handle what we throw at it anymore. It’s crucial, therefore, to consider twenty-first century solutions for twenty-first century problems! Conventional medicine can’t always provide us with solutions.
"When I was a hematologist, I’d have salespeople come in and try to give me gifts and all kinds of literature, and more or less try to convince me to use a particular drug...they’d suggest it would be beneficial by way of the enormous quantity they promised to supply. I never liked this, and always wanted the freedom to do what I believed in, in what was right for my patients.
"Unfortunately, as a result of this type of practice, there are many doctors out there who are inadvertently sold on a narrow train of thought that says if someone’s sick, give them a pill or a shot or an IV or surgery. There are other approaches to health problems – methods that are effective, and more beneficial to the patient.
"Often, simple dietary changes and herbal cleanses – along with probiotic supplements to replace the natural bacteria you’re going to be wiping out through cleansing – can yield dramatic health results.
"And the beauty of Puristat’s Liver Detoxification program is that it is simple to use. Compared to some of the others I considered – whose instructions read like a legal brief – Puristat is a breeze.
"Along with Puristat’s Liver Detoxification, I cleansed my colon by way of diet – salads, roughage, and that sort of thing. But some people find exclusively diet-centered cleansing extremely difficult. I believe most people would find it easier to do a Puristat cleanse rather than messing around with food detoxes. I’m very excited by the possibilities of future trials.
