Jesse Lynn Hanley, MD, is a holistic pioneer, and sought after educator and speaker on anti-aging, nutrition, longevity, and women's health.

At the age of thirty-two, inspired by her own recovery from chronic illness using natural methods, Dr. Hanley graduated from medical school at the Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Simultaneously, she studied Oriental medicine and acupuncture at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical School (UCLA), integrating both educational models with her in-depth nutritional and herbal knowledge.

The founder and former medical director of the Malibu Health and Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Hanley spent many of her twenty years in private practice at the Center.

One of her books, What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Premenopause – published by Warner Books January 1999 and co-authored with John R. Lee, MD – has sold over a million printed copies worldwide. Her latest book, Tired of Being Tired – on the topic of burnout and simple, powerful solutions – was published by Putnam in 2001, and is now being sold in paperback.

Dr. Hanley has gained national recognition for her outstanding contributions to the advancement of holistic medicine, giving regular radio and television interviews. She was the health expert on Wake Up America, a twelve-week, three-hour program on KFOX Radio out of Long Beach, California; she appeared on an NBC special profiling doctors as healers on CBS This Morning; and was the feature speaker on a one-hour CNN special about the National Institutes of Health.

Interviewed and quoted in numerous women's health books and magazines, Dr. Hanley has an international reputation as a medical expert, and teaches numerous courses to other physicians and the public on a variety of topics including nutrition, PMS (premenstrual syndrome), healthy menopause, rejuvenation, and longevity. In addition, she was a columnist for a nationally-recognized health newsletter.

Dr. Hanley served as a delegate on the United Nations International Council-Special Consulate, Caring Community Health & Education & Research Council Advisory Board, as well as conducted lectures at UCLA for physicians on healthy aging.

A teacher and medical consultant to Tahitian Noni International, her keynote talks received standing ovations at the organization's international and regional conventions. Additionally, Dr. Hanley had the honor of speaking at both the California and Texas Governors Conference for Women.

Dr. Hanley's philosophy and vision as a multidisciplinary practitioner is to accentuate one's empowerment with education, and motivate individuals to use their full potential, power, and possibilities to achieve optimum wellness for their future. Today she lives in Malibu, California, working with patients on a consulting basis, as well as educating and speaking nationally.
